United Steelworkers in Sudbury and Port Colborne ratify contract with Vale

SUDBURY, Ont. – Production and maintenance workers in Sudbury and Port Colborne have ratified a new contract with mining giant Vale.
The workers are members of the United Steelworkers union.
Ratifications votes were held this week with 76.7 per cent of the workers in Sudbury and 87 per cent in Port Colborne voting to ratify the tentative deal reached earlier this week.
The contract, which runs until 2020, takes effect on June 1.
