VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It was a sea smiles and high-fives as runners reached the BMO Marathon finish line in downtown Vancouver.

People had the option of running eight, 21, or 42 kms. There was even a route for kids.

Almost everyone News1130 spoke with say they will absolutely participate again next year.

“I like the route, I like the atmosphere, and I like the people,” says one woman.

Everyone has their own reasons for taking part, but all agree it’s a great event.

“The last four years I have been a pace bunny, so I help people achieve their goals,” explains another woman.

“Half marathon crawling, I drank a lot last night. It was an awesome experience, though,” describes one man.

A group of twenty women flew to Vancouver specifically to participate in the run, saying they have only heard great things about the event.

For those finding it difficult to complete the run, their were motivational cheer sections along the route.
