SURREY (NEWS1130) – Fraser Health has issued a warning about an unlicensed dentist.
People who received services from Valentyn Uvarov may be at risk of blood borne infections, including Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV.
The health authority says anaesthetic containers may have been re-used.
Dr. Michelle Murti tells us beyond serious infections, other smaller problems could emerge, if non-sterile materials were used.
“If there’s not thorough cleanliness and procedures, then people can sometimes can get local, short-lived infections in the mouth, they might have some redness and irritation. But those would go away over a few days or weeks.”
Fraser Health says Uvarov’s office was on 62nd Avenue near 142nd Street.
If you received dental treatments from Uvarov, you should contact Fraser Health or call 8-1-1.
