Woman accused of indecent act on airplane can’t remember much from flight

HALIFAX (NEWS1130) – A woman accused of committing an indecent act on a Toronto-to-Halifax flight has testified that she doesn’t remember much of what happened on the plane.

Alicia Elizabeth Lander has pleaded not guilty to committing an indecent act, assaulting a police officer, committing an act of mischief and causing a disturbance at Halifax Stanfield International Airport on Jan. 24, 2014.

She testified in provincial court today that she had 12 shots of Crown Royal at the Toronto airport and another two on the plane and doesn’t remember the sequence of events.

Lander says most of the shots were bought by the man she’s accused of committing the indecent act with.

Jason George Chase had pleaded not guilty to committing an indecent act, but he later changed his plea to guilty and waived his right to a trial.

Lander told the court she feels ashamed of what happened.
