IHIT wants to speak with people who had contact with Janzen family

By

ROSEDALE (NEWS1130) – The bodies of the two people found inside a house east of Chilliwack are the family members to Randy Janzen, who confessed online to killing his family last week. His body was also found inside of the home.

Police are still looking for more clues to confirm his Facebook post.

The people who died in the murder-suicide are believed to be Emily Janzen, her mother Laurel Janzen, and Randy.

In his online post, Janzen confessed to shooting his daughter to end her pain due to migraines. He then said he shot his wife because so she wouldn’t have to live with the heartbreak of learning her daughter was dead. He says he then killed his sister, who was found inside of a Langley house, so she didn’t have to live with the shame of what he did.

IHIT Sgt. Stephanie Ashton says the post appears to be consistent with what happened.

“We’re asking so we can see if there are consistencies. We’re asking that anyone who had contact with the Janzen family in the three weeks leading up to May 7th, so about mid-April to May7th, 2015, to please contact us and let us know what kind of contact they had with the family.”
