New luxury shopping centre near YVR holds job fair

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – This weekend’s your chance if you want a chance to work for Banana Republic, Tommy Hilfiger or Armani. The shopping centre developer behind the 240,000 square foot mall opening soon near Vancouver Airport is holding a job fair Sunday and Monday.

Ally Day with McArthurGlen outlet says the Lower Mainland has a growing reputation for having good candidates to work in high end stores “Our first career fair was so successful we had over 1,600 people attend and brands were thrilled with the calibre of candidates that came through. We had brands from the US and Europe that attended and they thought the level of candidates in the Vancouver market was phenomenal.”

Day has some tips for any prospective employee coming down to the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. “Come prepared, bring as many resumes and cover letters as you possibly can because you are often meeting with multiple members from each retail outlet and bring your game face. Come with a smile and a great attitude and we guarantee you’ll have a face-to-face interview.”

The 600 opening are in retail management, operations and sales for both full and part-time positions.

It’s expected to open early this summer
