VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The regional authority is continuing an air quality advisory for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley because of ongoing high concentrations of fine particulate matter associated with wildfire smoke.
Air quality did improve overnight but not enough to lift the advisory.
People with chronic underlying medical conditions should postpone strenuous activities until the advisory is lifted. Staying indoors in air conditioned spaces helps to reduce fine particulate exposure. Exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
The advisory will likely continue until there is a notable change in the weather.
