RCMP officer involved in legislature sting operation continues to testify

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A Mountie who trained undercover officers to pass as jihadi extremists is expected to continue testifying today at a BC terrorism trial.

RCMP Constable Tarek Mokdad says he provided magazine articles, extremist videos and scripture to the commander of an undercover sting operation that ended with the arrests of John Nuttall and Amanda Korody.

Nuttall and Korody were found guilty last month of plotting to bomb the BC legislature, but their lawyers are in BC Supreme Court to argue they were entrapped by undercover Mounties.

Mokdad says the operation’s commander once asked him for Qur’an verses that advise against killing innocent people, and another time he asked for a list of famous holy wars.
