Justin Trudeau kicks off election campaign in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is in Vancouver today to kick off his election campaign. He spoke to reporters outside the Olympic Cauldron before marching in this afternoon’s Pride Parade.

Trudeau says the election is about which party can give middle class Canadians a real and fair chance to succeed and accused the Conservatives of planning to grow the economy by making “wealthy people wealthier.”

“We know all the government ads in the world cannot hide the truth that Canada’s economy is not working for us and it’s harder and harder to make ends me. That is what the people I have met are saying. Canadians are my advisors,” he explains.

He says the Liberals would work to bring more international deals to benefit Canadian businesses. “We’ve signed many different trade deals like NAFTA or the Europe deal without putting into question our supply management and Mr. Harper certainly hasn’t said differently. Unlike the other guys, I tend to take a lot of questions if you have them for me.”

Trudeau also accused the Harper government of abandoning the middle class. “We know all the government ads in the world cannot hide the truth that Canada’s economy is not working for us and it’s harder and harder to make ends me. That is what the people I have met are saying. Canadians are my advisors.”

Trudeau released a campaign ad yesterday that asserts he’s ready to bring real change to Ottawa, taking aim at a Tory attack ad that says he’s “just not ready” to be Prime Minister.
