Rainfall warning in effect for the south coast

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A long episode of rain, at times heavy, is expected tonight.
A low which is approaching the south coast will result in rain at times heavy developing overnight.
Rain will be heaviest Saturday morning with rates approaching 10 mm/hr with 35 to 45 mm through Saturday over the Sunshine Coast.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
People are being advised to watch for possible washouts near rivers and creeks and culverts
Environment Canada says meteorologists will update any alerts if necessary.
