BC fire season over for the iconic Martin Mars water bomber

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Martin Mars water bomber won’t be battling any more fires in BC this season.

Owner Wayne Coulson with the Coulson Group says the season here has gone well. “The aircraft was on four large incidents. One that we were able to directly attack and knock out and it was actually in our hometown here in Great Central Lake near Port Alberni.”

Coulson adds the Martin Mars dropped more than a million litres of water with the estimated cost of around $750,000.

He notes there is still a possibility the water bomber will be called to help out south of the border.
