Abbotsford man faces child porn charges after laptop sale

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – An Abbotsford man who tried to sell his computer online has found himself facing a variety of charges instead.

The new owner of the laptop opened it up and immediately turned it over to police when he found disturbing images.

Police say when officers examined the computer, they found clear images of child sexual abuse.

“Ultimately, we were able to locate the former owner of the computer,” says Constable Ian MacDonald. “That man, a 52-year-old from Abbotsford by the name of Jonathan Grunwald has now been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, making child pornography, and possession of child pornography.”

The one child identified from the images on the computer is now safe and support is being provided.

Anyone with more information about the investigation is asked to call Abbotsford Police or Crime Stoppers.
