No time for a cuppa? You can vape your morning coffee

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Do you find coffee too hot, too hard to drink and too much of an inconvenient slowdown on your busy work-a-day morning? Well, a Vancouver company is marketing a product just for you.

When you think of the Left Coast you might think of coffee, or you might think of other more herbal, inhalable products.

Caffeine enthusiasts can now combine the two by vaping their morning jolt.

Eagle Energy Vapor has come up with what is basically an e-cig preloaded with herbal extracts to deliver your caffeine.

“We’ve created a delivery device for inhaling guarana extract,” says company president Elliot Mashford. “Essentially, guarana is a herbal, organic, botanical version of caffeine and we have infused it into an electronic vaporizer in order to be inhaled.”

Mashford claims it’s a “more immediate, more effective, more efficient” delivery mechanism for the herb, along with a mix of taurine and ginseng.

If it sounds like you’re inhaling a Red Bull or other energy drink, it’s because basically, you are.

“Guarana, taurine and ginseng are the three main, marketable ingredients of energy drinks. That’s why we went with them,” Mashford tells NEWS 1130.

“It’s important to differentiate guarana from chemically synthesized caffeine. They are two different things. We get some criticism from people who say you can’t inhale caffeine or heat it up, but we are using herbal extracts that can be vaporized and inhaled.”

Each disposable caffeine e-cig comes loaded with 500 “inhales” and Mashford says it takes 10 or 15 puffs to get a similar sensation to pounding back an energy drink or a downing cup of coffee.

“The total caffeine dosage in the product is significantly lower than that of an energy drink or a coffee. It’s because the delivery mechanism provides a more potent, immediate and effective way of consuming the ingredient.”

The Vancouver company is mainly focused on marketing the product in the United States, recently securing a deal to sell Eagle Energy Vapor at the MGM Grand resort chain while trying to get into gas station and convenience store chains.

“The market for caffeine and energy products is much bigger in the US than it is here,” Mashford admits.
