DELTA (NEWS 1130) – Current widening plans are enough to handle all the Tsawwassen traffic expected from a new mall being built on Highway 17 east of the Causeway, according to BC’s transportation minister.
Todd Stone knows there will be a big increase in the amount of traffic to and from the location that will be mixed in with the ferry traffic, but he feels the plans that are being made are adequate to match the anticipated short-term volume.
“We’re in discussion to make sure we’ve got the next round of priorities planned out, and time lines associated with that to ensure we can keep up with the growth of traffic that we expect to see in this part of the Lower Mainland.”
Stone says he will be keeping a close eye on it all.
Tsawwassen Mills is slated to open in October, 2016.
