Teen believed to use slingshot to shatter transit bus window in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Police think a boy shot something with a slingshot at a bus in Vancouver last night, shattering a window on a passenger.

“It was a decent slingshot. It may have had enough force that a rock would have broken the window. We really don’t know at this point what the projectile was,” says Anne Drennan with Transit Police.

Four people, including a 17-year-old who had a slingshot on him, were taken into custody. But police haven’t found any witnesses yet.

“The investigation continues in that we’re trying to obtain video from all around the area. But at this point, we don’t have any witnesses who actually saw this boy use the slingshot to fire or lob something at the bus.”

It happened around Hastings and Columbia Streets around 11 p.m. yesterday. The woman who had the glass shatter all over her is okay.
