Man charged with arson, uttering threats after Surrey fire

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Charges have been laid after a massive house fire in Surrey on Saturday.
It happened at 142 Street and 74 Avenue at around 1 a.m.
“Three people were in the residence when they spotted a fire at the back of the house. They were able to get out without injury,” says RCMP Corporal Scotty Schumann.
“The suspect is known to the persons who were occupying the house. As a result, we’re certain that it was a targeted incident,” he adds.
Timothy Berg, 54, has been charged with arson and uttering threats.
