The Canucks ready to face Connor McDavid

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Canucks fans will get to see Connor McDavid up close and personal for the first time as Vancouver is set to host the Oilers tonight at Rogers Arena.

The timing couldn’t be better given McDavid had two goals and an assist as Edmonton beat the Flames last night for its first win of the season. Vancouver is coming off a 4-3 loss against St. Louis on Friday that ended the Canucks’ streak of games where they earned at least a point.

Vancouver will reunite its ‘kid line’ of Sven Baertschi, Bo Horvat and Jake Virtanen that had a stellar outing against the Oilers back in pre-season combining for three goals and 10 points. Jannik Hansen moves up to be the right winger on the Sedin line, while Brandon Sutter goes back to centre to skate with Alex Burrows and Radim Vrbata.

Ryan Miller is expected to start in goal.

Puck drop at 6 p.m.
