Daniel Sedin reaches a milestone as the Canucks beat Chicago

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Daniel Sedin set-up Henrik Sedin’s first period goal for his 900th career point and then he added three goals, including the winner, as the Vancouver Canucks beat the Blackhawks 6-3 at Rogers Arena.

Jonathan Toews opened the scoring on a Chicago powerplay 6:17 into the first period, but Henrik pulled the Canucks even with a goal with just two seconds left on a two-man advantage for Vancouver.

Henrik helped the Canucks take their first lead, as he poked a loose puck at the side of the net into the slot, and Jannik Hansen was there to fire it home for his sixth goal of the season. Ryan Garbutt responded for Chicago less than a minute later as the teams were tied 2-2 after one period.

Daniel had the only goal in the second period, as Henrik turned the puck over and set up his brother for another powerplay marker. After Artem Anisimov tied the game for the Blackhawks in the third period, Daniel scored twice more to put the game out of reach and Alex Burrows added a goal into the empty net.

The Sedins combined for nine points in the win. Henrik had a goal with four assists for the first five-point game of his career, while Daniel had the three goals and one assist. Daniel and Henrik are the only Canucks to reach the 900-point milestone.

It was an important victory for the Canucks, as they were coming off a road trip that saw them win just once in seven games. Vancouver is now 3-5-2 in the month of November. The Canucks will be right back in action on Sunday, hosting the New Jersey Devils.
