One man dead after double shooting in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – A man is dead after being shot in Surrey overnight. Investigators have few clues to go on as they search for those responsible.

Just after midnight police got calls of multiple shots fired and when patrol officers got to 152nd Street and 66A Avenue, they found two men in a car bleeding badly.

The pair was rushed to the hospital, one of them died — his case deemed a homicide and RCMP Staff Sergeant Dale Carr explains what happened next. “The other [man] was taken to a local hospital, has undergone surgery for some gunshot-related injuries. They are non-life threatening, but severe injuries.”

No details about the men are being released and the motive, Carr adds, is also unclear at this time. “The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is taking on the file and Surrey RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit will be working alongside them.”

If you saw or heard anything suspicious in that area around midnight — you’re asked to call police.
