Salvation Army kicks off holiday kettle campaign

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The kettle campaign is a holiday season tradition at the Salvation Army and along with the carols and bells comes a lofty goal. The charity hopes to raise $4 million this year  to go towards helping people in poverty with food, shelter and life skills.

Patricia Cuff with the organization says these services can transform lives. “Every dollar counts and the dollars that are used for the Salvation Army are spent well. We are good stewards of our funds. Approximately 86 cents on every dollar goes back to the people in need.”

“we are having some fun competition out there where individuals are getting their own kettles and setting their goals and seeing their kettles filled for their community,” she adds.,

If you don’t have spare change to put in the kettle, you could always visit the website to donate or volunteer your time.
