Alberta MLA Manmeet Bhullar dies in semi crash

RED DEER (NEWS 1130) — Alberta MLA Manmeet Bhullar has died after he was stuck by a semi-truck north of Red Deer Monday afternoon.
The conservative member of the Alberta legislature was stopped along the QEII to help a motorist whose car had flipped into the median.
The family said in a statement Monday night, “Manmeet left us while he was doing what he loved more than anything, helping someone else.”
RCMP have not identified Bhullar, but issued a release about the death of a 35-year-old man.
Investigation shows a semi-truck appeared to have lost control while descending a hill and struck one person who died later in hospital.
Friends and colleagues are expressing shock and sadness over the passing of the respected politician.
