BC Liberals falling behind on latest report card

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Insights West has released its yearly BC government report card, with the provincial Liberals receiving the lowest grades for its handling of TransLink and housing affordability.

Mario Canseco, with Insights West, says almost 80 per cent of people in BC feel the government has done a bad job of managing TransLink.

“In Metro Vancouver, and also those who don’t live here, who look at the way the BC government has been handling TransLink are deeply dissatisfied. It’s one of the lowest ranked things that we see there.”

Canseco notes housing affordability also got a low grade.

“Housing, homelessness and also poverty. We do see that there are very few residents that feel the government is doing something positive to deal with these issues,” he explains. “Every month there has been a steady decline when you are looking at this issue and it really shows that there is a wide perception out there from the residents in BC that the government isn’t really caring about those who need help.”

The survey also found almost half of the people in this province are dissatisfied with the way the BC government has handled LNG development and just as many say their opinion of Premier Christy Clark has worsened over the last six months

Crime and public safety were the best-rated issues for the provincial government.
