The Canucks look to dim the Stars

DALLAS, TX (NEWS 1130)- The Canucks look for a second straight victory to start their four-game road trip when they take on the Western Conference-leading Stars tonight.

The Canucks are coming off a 3-2 win to open the trip in Minnesota on Wednesday. Radim Vrbata scored the first two goals of that game, and Ryan Miller turned in one of his finer performances of the season stopping 31 of 33 shots.

Daniel Sedin knows the Canucks will need more efforts like that as they face the Stars – the second highest scoring team in the league. “They’re never out of games. Their power play is really good and the top guys can really score. We’re going to have to keep doing what we’ve been doing lately and that’s play well defensively and limiting their chances.”

This is the second of three meetings between Vancouver and Dallas this season, and the final visit for the Canucks to the Lone Star State. The Stars knocked off the Canucks 4-3 in overtime in their clash at the end of October.

Sven Baertschi will slot back in the lineup. Jake Virtanen is the odd man out. Miller gets the start in goal.

Puck drop at 5:30 p.m. on Sportsnet.
