The Canucks look to dim the brightly shining Stars

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks open a four-game home stand against the top team in the West, the Dallas Stars. Only Montreal has more points than Dallas.

This is first and only visit to Vancouver for the Stars this season, and the third and final meeting between the two teams overall. The Stars are looking to complete the sweep of the Canucks having won both previous match-ups.

Vancouver didn’t practice yesterday, but will have a different look compared to just two days ago in Los Angeles given it’s a banged-up team right now. Three new members have been added to the injured list – Chris Higgins, Jake Virtanen, and Chris Tanev.

Ronalds Kenins, who burst onto the scene last season when he was called up from Utica, is expected to make his NHL season debut after being recalled yesterday. He’s been battling injuries since the playoffs last spring and is finally ready to get this chance. “I know how to play. I know what I have to do to be physical out there and just play my game.” Kenins is expected to skate on a line with Bo Horvat and Radim Vrbata.

Ryan Miller will get the start in goal.

Game time is at 7 p.m. on Sportsnet 360.
