Bruins send the Canucks to a fifth straight loss

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Tuukka Rask made 17 saves for the shutout as the Boston Bruins cruised to a 4-0 victory over Vancouver, which ran the Canucks’ losing streak to five games. The Canucks have been held to 17 or fewer shots in three consecutive games.

The Bruins opened the scoring just under three minutes into the game, as Brad Marchand found some space up high and fired a shot past Jacob Markstrom. Boston doubled the lead just 4:09 later, as Torey Krug was set-up by Kevan Miller for his third goal of the season.

Boston added another goal in the second period. Newly-acquired Landon Ferraro came down the right side and fired home his first goal as a member of the Bruins. Tyler Randell rounded out the scoring with a goal for Boston in the third.

In the final minutes of the third period, Vancouver’s Brandon Prust was given a 10-minute misconduct after he speared Boston’s Brad Marchand away from the puck.

Markstrom made just 18 stops in his fifth start of the season. The loss drops his record to 1-2-2. The Canucks will continue their homestand on Monday against the Buffalo Sabres.
