The Canucks in Detroit to face the Wings

By

DETROIT, MI (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks play their second road game in as many nights when they face the Red Wings. Captain Henrik Sedin, who left last night’s game in Philadelphia with a lower-body injury, is listed as day-to-day.

Vancouver has recalled centre Linden Vey from its American Hockey League affiliate. Vey has three goals and 12 assists in 26 games for the Utica Comets so far this season. The 24-year-old appeared in 75 games for the Canucks in 2014-15, registering 10 goals and 14 assists. He failed to make the club out of training camp this season. “You know there were things I needed to work on and go down and it’s business as usual here. You’re a hockey player and you suck it up and work on your game and hopefully you get another chance.”

The Red Wings are coming off a 2-1 loss to Buffalo on Monday. Despite that loss, they’ve been on quite a tear lately going unbeaten in regulation in 13 straight prior to that setback.

Detroit beat Vancouver 3-2 in overtime back on October 24 at Rogers Arena.

Ryan Miller will get the start in net for the Canucks. Jimmy Howard will counter for the Wings.

Game time is at 4:30 p.m. on Sportsnet.
