The Canucks hope to blow past the Hurricanes

CAROLINA (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks head to Carolina to continue their six game road trip. Vancouver is looking for a bounce back game after falling to Washington last night. Captain Henrik Sedin expects the Canucks to comeback with a strong effort this evening.

“We should be fresh. Usually back-to-back’s aren’t a big problem, it is when you get in to three games in four nights and four games in six nights when you get in to trouble.”

Vancouver has won five straight against Carolina including a 3-2 victory at Rogers Arena just 10 days ago. Bo Horvat scored twice in that game and he hopes he can continue his success against the Canes tonight.

“It is going to be fun. I was happy the way I played the last time I played these guys and the team had a good game as well. We need to come out flying because it is going to be a tough game and hopefully we can get the win.”

Jacob Markstrom gets the start in net for Vancouver, while Cam Ward is the projected starter for Carolina.

The Canucks are hoping to reverse a troubling trend in which they have allowed the first goal in eight straight games. Allowing the opening goal, especially on the road is not a recipe for success.

The puck drops at 4 p.m. and you can watch the game on Sportsnet.
