Dog that attacked sisters in Richmond will be put down

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – A dog that viciously attacked two sisters in Richmond in December, biting one of them more than 100 times, is set to be put down.

Ted Townsend with the City of Richmond says the owner of the dog has decided to drop his fight.

“The intial indication was that he was going to go to court. But he’s dropped that opposition,” he tells us.

“[He] subsequently signed the papers to surrender the dog into our custody. We’re now able to proceed with the planned action,” adds Townsend.

He says there is nothing that can be done now to save Yogi, the Rottweiler-Husky.
