VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Vancouver Board of Trade has decided to become the Greater VBOT in order to represent businesses throughout the region.
Anita Huberman with the Surrey Board of Trade calls the change “unacceptable” and says she’s worked hard to make her group the voice of that city.
“The whole roll-out of their approach compromises the work and integrity of other chamber board of trade associations and cities themselves,” she explains. “They are not the regional voice of business. They are not working collaboratively and I will not consider the Vancouver Board Of Trade to be the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade or a regional voice of business.”
Huberman hopes it doesn’t mean a loss of new members for her group or other groups serving other communities.
