False Creek floating billboard rebuked by residents

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — “It’s beyond offensive.”

“We’ve reached a new low.”

“The ugliest thing I’ve seen on False Creek.”

Some harsh criticism is being heaped on a new floating billboard plying the waters from English Bay to Science World from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.

“It’s astonishing that that kind of blight would be allowed in our beautiful city,” she tells NEWS 1130.

“The quality of the creek I think is a concern, not just the people who have a good view but to people who are concerned with quality of life and ability of our kids to experience waterfront nature.”

On its company website, Burke Billboards writes – “we take the beautiful waterways, the stunning skyline of Vancouver, and make it the perfect platform for you to grasp your audience’s attention.”
