Canucks feeling the blues ahead of game against St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks conclude their three game road trip in Missouri this evening. Vancouver will be trying to snap a six game losing skid that has seen the team fall in to a tie for last in the Western Conference.

The Canucks will have no time to rest after a 3-2 shootout loss to the Predators last night up against a very good St. Louis team. Bo Horvat says if Vancouver can improve on yesterday’s game, they should be able to go toe-to-toe with the Blues.

“I think we need to play like we did in the first period against Nashville. I thought we had a great game and if we can continue to do that tonight I think we will have a great chance to win.”

Derek Dorsett is expected to return to Vancouver’s lineup after missing the last five games with a lower body injury.

Jacob Markstrom gets the start in net, while the Blues counter with Brian Elliott, who has earned shutouts in his last two games.

This is the third and final meeting of the season between the two teams. St. Louis won both games in regulation. The Blues can lock up a playoff spot with a victory this evening.

The puck drops at 5 p.m. on Sportsnet.
