Most Canadians against doctor-assisted death for patients suffering psychologically: poll

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It seems a lot of Canadians do not support certain Commons committee recommendations on doctor-assisted death.
Shachi Kurl with pollster Angus Reid says 78 per cent of those surveyed think physician-assisted death should be limited to those suffering physically.
“There is a lot of pushback on the issue of psychological suffering. This is not seen, in the minds of Canadians, as a reason for people to be able to access or seek a physician-assisted suicide,” she tells us.
The Supreme Court of Canada has given the federal government a June 6th deadline to create assisted death legislation.
