The Canucks look to string together back-to-back wins

ANAHEIM, CA (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks wrap up their two-games-in-two-days trip tonight when they close out their season series against the Ducks in Anaheim.

Vancouver is coming off a much needed win, finally putting an end to a nasty nine-game losing skid with a 4-2 victory in San Jose. The Canucks success in Anaheim, however, is nothing to write home about – having just two wins in their last seven trips to the Honda Center.

Jannik Hansen, who scored the winner last night, knows securing a win will be a tall order. “They’re a big heavy playoff team and it will be a good experience for a lot of our guys to face them as they tune up for a long run.”

A regulation win tonight would give the Canucks the season series bragging rights over the Ducks. In order to do that, however, they will have to find a way to snap the Anaheim’s three-game win streak and possibly do so without the services of Sven Baertschi, who left the game last night with a lower body injury. If Baertschi is unable to play, coach Willie Desjardins will have to bump someone up from the blueline. “I don’t think we can get anybody out of Utica, so I would assume it’ll be a defenceman playing there.”

Expect to see Jacob Markstrom between the pipes for Vancouver.

Puck drop at 7 p.m. on Sportsnet Pacific.
