VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – People living in Maple Ridge and Mission felt a small earthquake last night around 8:45 p.m.

The quake measured 2.7 on the scale and only lasted for a few seconds.

One of our listeners from Mission wasn’t even sure it was a quake. “The house shook, I asked my husband if that was an earthquake and then I called my sister and she said that she felt it too. She actually thought it was the cat jumping on the ground.”

Another listener Felena Shay felt it at her home in Mission. “It was honestly like somebody slammed a door really hard and that was it. Nothing very exciting but nevertheless it was out of the ordinary.”

There was also a second tremor felt around 10 p.m., but no reports of any damage or injuries.
