Middle-aged Canadians enjoying some of the most satisfying sex: survey

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Who is having the best sex in Canada? Let’s just say there are a lot of receding hairlines and mom jeans involved.
It’s middle-aged folks who are having the most satisfying action between the sheets!
“Aging and sexuality gets a bad reputation in that ‘it’s all downhill from here.’ But our results totally contradict that,” says sexuality researcher Robin Milhausen at the University of Guelph.
A survey for a major condom company finds 85 per cent of mid-life Canadians rate their relationship as sexually satisfying.
“Our mid-life Canadians are reporting greater amounts of sexual pleasure than our young university sample did,” says Milhausen.
And remember this figure: Six minutes.
That’s the amount of time mid-life men and women like to cuddle afterward.
“A huge predictor of sexual satisfaction was the amount of minutes that people spend being affectionate after sex,” says Milhausen.
“Just having six minutes of affectionate behaviour after the sexual encounter — talking, cuddling, being kind after sex — leads people to be much more likely to rate the sexual encounter as pleasurable and satisfying.”
The study asked 2,400 participants to provide detailed information about their sexual health, happiness, and pleasure in addition to their sexual behaviours and problems.
