VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Seven people remain in custody after Vancouver Police were called to investigate reports of a man with a gun at the Murray Hotel on Hornby Street last night.
Constable Brian Montague says officers locked down two floors of the building before they found a cache of weapons.
“We located a rifle, ammunition, a sword, seven knives, a couple cans of bear spray — and I believe there were some batons that were recovered, as well,” he tells us.
“Obviously, it’s a priority for us. Whenever someone has access to weapons or is in possession of weapons, it becomes a public safety concern and a high priority.”
No charges have been laid.
