VPD looking for man convicted in home invasion

UPDATE: Jay Tyler Brown has turned himself into the Vancouver Police and is now in custody.

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A BC-wide warrant has been issued for a 38-year-old man who didn’t turn himself into sheriffs last week.

Jay Tyler Brown was recently convicted of break-and-enter, robbery, and forcible confinement for a home invasion in 2014.

In that incident, two men knocked on the door of an 11th floor apartment in the West End, and forced their way in with weapons. One person who lives in the home was tied up; another was threatened. They also rummaged through the apartment, stealing several items.

Last week, Brown was convicted and released under the order that he turn himself in to sheriffs by 2 p.m. on May 13th. He never showed up.

“If you know the whereabouts of Mr. Brown or you see him, we’re asking that you don’t approach him but you call 9-1-1 immediately,” says Constable Brian Montague.

Brown is white, 5’10″ tall and 170 lbs with a missing tooth, and tattoos on both arms — including a shark, nautical star and diamonds on his right forearm and the words “Think For Yourself” on his left forearm.
