Locally-produced show a Supernatural boost to BC’s bottom line

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A locally produced TV show has been a big boost to BC’s bottom line.

Supernatural is being credited with bringing more than 96-hundred jobs and over $500-million dollars in spending to the local economy over its 10 seasons filming in Metro Vancouver and other areas around BC.

Nearly $30-million was spent on crew and labour, and $19-million went to goods and services in the province.

Also among the others reaping the benefits: hotels, storage companies, and caterers.

The figures are from the Motion Picture Association of Canada, which it says shows the impressive income generated by just one of BC’s dozens of TV and film productions.
