Tenors say Remigio Pereira changed anthem lyrics on his own

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Victoria group that sang the Canadian national anthem at the MLB All Star Game in San Diego, is distancing itself from one of its members after he changed the lyrics to the song on his own during the performance.

The group has already made it clear these were the actions of just one – Remigio Pereira.

That’s the former member of the group went rogue during the first solo in the song.

Reaction started coming immediately on Twitter with people calling the rendition everything from ignorant to disrespectful.

One person even called them the “unbookable Tenors.”

The group itself, which was formerly called the Canadian Tenors, moved quickly to distance itself from Pereira, calling it the actions of a lone wolf to serve his own political views and putting out a statement saying he will no longer be performing with them.

That is already reflected on the band’s Wikipedia page.
