A 3.2 quake strikes north of Coquitlam

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – If you felt a little shake around 5:45 Saturday afternoon, you may have been feeling a small earthquake.

“Well, I was on my couch, napping away. I felt a thump. I get up and see the water in my glass moving around a bit. I tell my wife ‘Honey, I think I just felt a tremor.’ She said she felt something, too. She was in the kitchen,” says Steve, from Port Coquitlam.

The US Geological Survey measured a magnitude 3.2 tremor about 28 kilometres north of Mission and Maple Ridge.

It was a light enough shake that people have been contacting the NEWS 1130 newsroom to find out if there it was actually an earthquake.
