PEMBERTON (NEWS 1130) – One man is in critical condition and another is in police custody after what appears to be a stabbing took place today at campgrounds used by those who attended last weekend’s the Pemberton Music Festival.
Police were originally called about a possible pepper spraying, but along the way they learned a stabbing might have happened as well.
RCMP sergeant Rob Knapton says when they arrived they found a 21-year-old West Vancouver man with injuries.
“All I know at this point was that he was medi-vaced down to Vancouver and he was in serious or critical condition at that time,” he says.
Knapton says police arrested a 23-year-old man from Vancouver who now faces charges of assault causing bodily harm,
Sections of the campground have been taped off and police are talking to witnesses.
