Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Down 17 cents, or 2.41 per cent, to $6.87 on 5.8-million shares.

Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Down 16 cents, or 2.19 per cent, to $7.14 on 4.1-million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Up two cents, or 0.19 per cent, to $10.83 on 3.8-million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Down five cents, or 0.50 per cent, to $9.99 on 3.8-million shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 10 cents, or 1.50 per cent, to $6.57 on 3.7-million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Husky Energy Inc. (TSX:HSE). Oil and gas. Up 47 cents, or 3.05 per cent, to $15.89 on 1.4-million shares. Husky Energy Inc. says it made financial progress in the second quarter, but the positive news is being offset by a pipeline leak that has spilled up to 250,000 litres of oil and other material into the North Saskatchewan River. Husky’s second quarter included a $196 million loss, which was equal to 20 cents per share. That’s less than half of last year’s second-quarter loss, which was $458 million or 47 cents per share.
