One man dead after Surrey shooting

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – There has been yet another shooting in Surrey and this time it turned deadly. Officers were called out to 90A Avenue just off of 144th Street just after 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say two people were shot and the pair were rushed to the hospital where shortly after one of them died.

There are very few details about what led up to the shooting, but we know it happened in the driveway of a home in the residential neighbourhood. “The identities of the parties is not being released at this time pending notification of the families,” says Sergeant Duane Honeyman.

He adds investigators will likely be in the area for much of the day canvassing for witnesses, evidence, and video footage. This attack is believed to be targeted.

There have been more than 40 shootings in Surrey so far this year. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called to handle the case.
