Cool weather helping crews make progress with Lytton wildfire

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The wildfire near Lytton is still bigger than Stanley Park, but it hasn’t grown over the long weekend.
Rain could help firefighters today, as showers are in the forecast. It is also expected to rain overnight.
Fire information officer Ryan Turcot says crews are making progress. “The Spencer Road wildfire is holding at 532 hectares and is 60 per cent contained at this time’
An evacuation alert is in effect, an upgrade from the evacuation order that was in place for the last week.
The BC Wildfire Service does say that could change if the flames get out of control again.
