MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS 1130) – The Integrated Homicide Team is on the scene of a fatal shooting in Maple Ridge.
Police were called to the area of 243rd Street and 102 Avenue to find the victim suffering from gunshot wounds around 2 a.m.
He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
RCMP Cpl. Meghan Foster explains they don’t believe there is any danger to the public. “The area around the crime scene will be shut down for an undermined amount of time. The investigation is in its early stages but from the evidence gathered so far the shooting appears to be targeted”
Foster says the victim is not known to police. “I can confirm that the 32-year-old victim does not have a criminal record.”
Investigators are hoping to speak to more witnesses in the area.
