RCMP seek ‘person of interest’ in disappearance of Japanese student

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – Mounties have released two photos of a man walking alongside Japanese student Natsumi Kogawa one day after she was last seen.

Kogawa seemingly vanished without a trace on September 7th, but wasn’t reported missing for five days.

The unnamed man is not a suspect in Kogawa’s disappearance, but police think he could offer information in regards to their investigation.

The photos were taken at 1:27 p.m on September 8th at Seymour St. and Hastings St. in downtown Vancouver.

The man is described as white, roughly 30 years old, with a slim build, light-coloured hair, and medium height. He was seen wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans, running shoes and a dark baseball cap.

Anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP tip line at 604-294-7922, extension 6924, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
