Young woman reports sexual assault in Richmond

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – Police are looking for public tips after an 18-year-old woman reported being attacked Friday evening.

The woman was walking alone on Ash Street towards General Currie Road at around 7:30 p.m. She says as she approached Paulik Park Community Garden, a man came up behind her, knocked her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her.

She managed to fight off her attacker and escape. Investigators have since started canvassing the neighbourhood and collecting video surveillance footage.

The attacker is described male, roughly 5’10, wearing dark pants, dark dress shoes, and a dark puffy jacket.
