BC Ferries working to catch up after cancelled Saturday sailings

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It looks like everything is back to normal at BC Ferries, after yesterday’s storm forced the corporation to cancel its afternoon and evening sailings.

Deb Marshall with Ferries says it was a precautionary move.

“We were listening to the forecast from Environment Canada, it was supposed to be more severe than the storm actually was and we were trying not to do any damage to the docks or vessels or make customers uncomfortable.”

“We have actually added a couple of additional sailings, we do expect extra volumes today because of the cancellations yesterday.”

Additional sailings have been added to the Swartz Bay-Tsawwassen and Duke Point-Tsawwassen runs, while there is a full schedule to and from Duke Point as well.
