The Canucks fight off the Blues in overtime

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Henrik Sedin scored in overtime and the Canucks beat the St. Louis Blues 2-1 at Rogers Arena.

The winner came after Jacob Markstrom made a nice glove save in the extra period and played the puck to keep things moving. Sedin gave a nice give-and-go with brother Daniel, before putting the winner off the post and in for his first of the season.

The Canucks trailed both of their previous games heading into the third, and tied things up with just under three minutes remaining in regulation when Bo Horvat banged home a rebound past Blues goaltender Jake Allen.

Vladimir Tarasenko opened the scoring for St. Louis, which got 24 stops from Allen.

Markstrom finished with 23 saves.

Vancouver has won two games in overtime and another in a shootout to start the 2016/17 season, and will host the Sabres on Thursday.
