VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Police Department are requesting the aid of everyday superheroes to assist their latest investigation after a 100-pound safe full of valuable comics was stolen from a local comic enthusiast – chief among them being the ultra-rare Fantastic Four #1, which is worth anywhere between $800 and $300,000.
The safe containing the comics was stolen around noon on October 17th after thieves broke into an East Vancouver home. The thieves made off with all the pricey comics inside, though police are hoping the uniqueness of the items should make them easy to locate if they go up for sale.
Constable Jason Doucette is asking for anyone with information about the theft to come forward.
“Someone knows the location of these valuable comics,” Doucette said. “We just hope they do the right thing and share that information with our Property Crime Unit or Crime Stoppers.”
Anyone who has information regarding the case can contact the VPD Property Crime Unit at 604-717-3328 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
